Micromax Funbook P300 users rejoice!
We are finally going to share how you can install Android 4.1 JellyBean on Micromax Funbook P300.
The Android 4.1 JellyBean for Funbook P300 is actually based on CyanogenMOD 10. This is the successor to the one of the most famous and stable ROMs for Micromax Funbook P300, the CyanBook ROM for Funbook.
This ROM, as the title suggests is still in its Beta (and that too, in its first Beta) so you should not expect it to run perfectly there are still many bugs as it is based on CM10 nightly. But its worth checking out.
So, before installing this ROM lets take a look at some bugs and features of this ROM.
Bugs
- Camera can crash at times.
- No Hardware Acceleration.
- USB will not auto mount. You have to do it manually(Method explained later).
- Google TTS may crash occasionally.
- Google Now might not stop listening to you. Solution is known and the dev is trying to implement it.
- There are many more bugs as this is still a Beta version.

So, in this post I will tell you how you can install Android 4.1 JellyBean on Micromax Funbook P300.
Requirements
- A Micromax Funbook P300
- CWM installed on your Funbook. [Install CWM on Micromax Funbook]
- Installation ZIPs.
- Hands and a working mind.
Download ZIPs
Download CyanBook JellyBean v2 Download JB GappsMove both the downloaded ZIPs in your external SD card. Don’t forget to insert that SD card in Funbook .
Installation
Okay so now comes the fun part. Follow the steps properly:
- Reboot into CWM Recovery Mode. To reboot into recovery mode turn off your tab. Press the “Options button” and “Power Button” simultaneously.
- Now I would suggest you to take a backup of your current ROM just in case you run into some trouble.
- Now select “Wipe data/factory reset“. Let it complete.
- Now go to Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache. Move to the next step when this is complete.
- Now choose “Install ZIP from SD card” and choose the “CyanBook_JB_V4.zip”. Let it install.
- After the above ZIP is installed properly again choose ”Install ZIP from SD card” and then choose “gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip“. Let it install as well.
- All done! Time to reboot.
Booting Up
It will take some time while its booting for the first time. After it boots up you will need to set it up. Just follow the steps and enter the required info that you are asked for. It will only take a minute or two.
